Clarks is a popular brand that has been around for the last 187 years and they have been in Malaysia for some years now. However, they wanted a way to become active online via Facebook and to bridge online customers to offline sales. When they started this campaign, their Malaysian facebook account had only 1800 likes.
To get more followers on their Facebook account, Clarks launched a campaign on Mother’s Day for a duration of one month. Customers were encouraged to like their Facebook account each time they purchased their goods whether online or through walk-ins. Once they like the page, they were asked to submit a slogan which allowed them to enter a contest to win a Holiday package and if they submitted it with a receipt of purchase they would stand a better chance of winning.
A total of 100 winners were chosen, 50 from Malaysia and another 50 from Singapore. The campaign spiked the number of likes in the Facebook account to 60,000 likes within a month in Malaysia and about 8,000 in Singapore.
They felt that the voucher concept was refreshing and well matched to their corporate image. The overall campaign was very professional and they liked that the services included the voucher redemption. They even managed to collect customer data, which were necessary for redemption of vouchers and the information is invaluable for future marketing campaigns.
